Code of Conduct

Fae Social is a community built on respect, kindness, and inclusivity. This Code of Conduct sets out the standards we expect from everyone who uses the platform.

Our Values

Fae Social is designed to be a welcoming space for people of all backgrounds. We value open expression, creativity, and genuine connection. We believe social media can be a positive force when communities set clear expectations and hold each other accountable.

Expected Behaviour

  • Treat other users with respect and empathy.
  • Engage in good faith; assume positive intent.
  • Respect others' boundaries, identities, and lived experiences.
  • Use content warnings where appropriate for sensitive topics.
  • Credit others' work when sharing or referencing it.

Unacceptable Behaviour

The following are not permitted on Fae Social:

  • Harassment, bullying, or targeted abuse of any kind.
  • Hate speech, including content that attacks people based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, or other protected characteristics.
  • Non-consensual sharing of intimate or private images.
  • Doxxing or publishing others' private information without consent.
  • Content that sexualises minors in any way.
  • Spam, phishing, or distribution of malware.
  • Impersonation of individuals or organisations.
  • Content that promotes self-harm or suicide.
  • Illegal content under Dutch or EU law.

Federation

Our Code of Conduct applies to content originating from Fae Social. We also moderate federated content visible on our instance. Instances that consistently allow content violating our standards may be limited or blocked.

Enforcement

Moderators review reported content and apply proportionate responses:

  • Warning — for minor or first-time violations, a private message explaining the issue.
  • Content removal — removal of specific posts or media that violate these standards.
  • Temporary suspension — a time-limited suspension for repeated or serious violations.
  • Permanent ban — for severe violations or persistent patterns of harmful behaviour.

Moderators act in good faith and aim to be fair and consistent. We document our moderation decisions for accountability.

Reporting

If you experience or witness behaviour that violates this Code of Conduct, you can report it through the report button on any post or profile, or by emailing conduct@junovy.com. Reports are handled confidentially. We aim to acknowledge reports within 24 hours and resolve them within 7 days.

Appeals

If you believe a moderation action was applied unfairly, you can appeal by emailing moderation@junovy.com. Appeals are reviewed by a different moderator than the one who made the original decision.

Changes

We may update this Code of Conduct as the community evolves. We will announce significant changes on the platform.
